Japanese Traditional Dance – Then, now and beyond

Senrei Nishikawa Lecture in US

 

The comparison of different types of Japanese dances such as Noh theater, dance odori, dance Mai, the creation of Senrei. The dance pieces presented by video are all inspired by a folk story dating from the 11th century, entitled "Dôjôji. It tries to present particular feature of each dance and difference between them so you can see how the culture was transmitted to Japan.
